Educational Philosophy

My philosophy of education is influenced by progressivist ideas such as Dewey’s perspectives. The education in its philosophy is conceived as the supreme art that shapes the human mind and I think that teachers have the principal role in guiding children through this process of transformation.

Every child comes into the classroom with a potential to bring something unique to the world and the role of the teacher is to help children develop their potentials by taking into account their differences, accepting and embracing them.

I believe that the curriculum should answer children’s interests, be engaging and challenging enough for all children, respecting different types of learners and allowing children to experiment, take risks, and be active learners. By his positive attitude the teacher should encourage children and stimulate their passion for learning.

For me teaching is a lifelong process about new research, new philosophies, new strategies on how to deliver the curriculum more successfully. Every interaction with children, families and the community should be considered as a chance to learn and celebrate what every one of us has to bring into this culturally diverse world.
